News Effects is committed to making our website accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA across all pages.

Our Accessibility Features

  • Semantic HTML5 with proper heading hierarchy (h1 → h2 → h3)
  • All images have descriptive alt text; decorative images use empty alt=""
  • Keyboard-navigable interface — all interactive elements reachable via Tab
  • High colour contrast (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
  • Dark and light mode to reduce eyestrain
  • ARIA landmarks (role="main", role="navigation", role="banner")
  • Skip-to-content link available via keyboard
  • Resizable text — content reflows at 200% zoom without horizontal scroll
  • No content flashes more than 3 times per second (WCAG 2.3.1)
  • Form inputs have associated labels

Known Limitations

Some embedded third-party video players and interactive data visualisations may not fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA. We are working with our technology partners to address these. Alternative text descriptions are provided where possible.

Assistive Technology Support

The site has been tested with NVDA (Windows), VoiceOver (macOS/iOS) and TalkBack (Android). We recommend using these browsers for best compatibility: Chrome 120+, Firefox 120+, Safari 17+, Edge 120+.

Request an Accessible Format

If you need any content in an alternative format (plain text, large print, audio description), please contact us at accessibility@newseffects.com. We will respond within 5 working days.

Enforcement Procedure

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Equality and Human Rights Commission (England, Scotland and Wales) or the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland.

This statement was prepared on 1 January 2026 following an internal audit. We plan to conduct a full external WCAG 2.2 AA audit in Q3 2026.
